I am a Research Associate in the Department of Biochemistry, where I specialise in electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM). I use cryo-EM data for the reconstruction and computational modelling of antibiotic transport by bacterial tripartite efflux pumps and related membrane proteins.

A native of Messina in Italy, Concetta completed her BA in Conservation of Cultural Heritage in 2007 at the University of Messina. During her university years she worked in various libraries and cultural institutions in Italy. She completed her MA in Archival and Library Science at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ in 2009. In 2011 she moved to the UK where she worked as a Cataloguer for Blackwell, Baker & Taylor and YBP/EBSCO, acquiring great experience in cataloguing books and ebooks. In September 2015 she moved to Cambridge University Press where, as Senior Library Data Analyst, she uses her knowledge of cataloguing and metadata to improve the quality of the metadata supplied to customers and third parties. From 2017 she is the Cambridge University Press representative on the Metadata2020 project and from 2019 Social Media Manager for the CILIP – CIG Cataloguing and Indexing Group.

Elizabeth has an MPhil in HPS from Cambridge and has worked for the Newton Project Canada. She has worked for the Darwin Correspondence Project for more than fifteen years, and assisted in the conversion of the Project's core files to TEI XML, and is now developing and implementing strategies to ensure the quality, robustness, interoperability, and long-term viability of our electronic data. She is a co-founder of Epsilon, a nineteenth century science letters platform and has been a guest lecturer at the Digital Humanities at Oxford Summer School.

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Scott Polar Research Institute, where I use a combination of novel satellite imaging techniques, airborne geophysical observations and climate-ocean model data to investigate the key climatic drivers responsible for controlling the rapid deterioration of the Antarctic Ice Sheet since the onset of the satellite era (~1970-present). As such, I have a range of experience in the handling, processing and visualisation of complex geospatial datasets, and have experience in the usage of several different computer programming languages to do this. My experience also includes the long-term archiving and preservation of data to support scientific reproducibility, ranging from the publication of small, project-specific datasets to institutional collections (including assisting with the recent publication of SPRI’s historical Arctic airborne radio echo sounding data archives).
