I am a postdoctoral research associate in the Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Department focusing on automation of laboratory biological research using a combination of AI, informatics, lab robotics, and software engineering. I have previously worked on metabolomic systems biology with mass spectrometry analysis. Currently, my interests are especially focused on the intersection of knowledge representation, generative AI, and symbolic methods for automating scientific discovery.

Biography

Hi I'm Michael, I was appointed the new Research Laboratory Technician within the CCMM group at the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy. I have a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Nanomaterials and Materials Science but what I am passionate about is computers whether that be software or hardware. I am always looking to advance my skills and help others do so which is why I joined the Data Champions.
