Learn more about Python

If you have some basic working knowledge with the Python programming language or you are beginning to manage your data fluently in other programming languages and want to learn more about Python, some data champions will be running a one-day session on Thursday 12th October in the Downing Site

This course will cover functions and modules and requires some basic programming skills as described in the link to the training page.

Introduction to Python

If you are interested in learning to use the Python programming language from scratch, there are sessions for beginners. Although these are currently fully-booked please sign up to the waiting list / register your interest, so we can gauge demand for future sessions, and allocate spaces if these become available

Wojciech Turek, head of the Research Computing Platforms team and service owner for storage services will provide an overview of the recently released UIS storage services for research data and how they can benefit researchers and help to improve way researchers store and process data. Wojciech will also provide insight into the development of the forthcoming institutional storage service and Storage Self-Service portal.
