Yermek Aitenov is a PhD candidate at the Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge, studying the role of protein transcription factors in Drosophila embryonic development. He has previously worked as a bioinformatician and analysed a wide range of data including Hi-C, 4C-seq, ChIP-seq, bacterial 16S RNA, bacterial whole genome from clinical specimens, and transcriptional microarrays.
