Stefanie Felsberger is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Gender Studies at Cambridge University. Her research focuses on fertility tracking applications and asks how women in Egypt and Austria navigate the commodification of personal data to question conceptions of gender and labour in surveillance capitalism, data ownership and commodification. Before she worked as Bartlett Fellow at the Access to Knowledge for Development Center at the American University in Cairo. Her work looked at access and control of data, and the political economy of data, and surveillance theory. Stefanie studied Political Science and Arabic Studies at the University of Vienna.

Biography

Amelie Roper is Research Facilitator at Cambridge University Library. Her role involves supporting grant applications for research funding for library activities, and assisting with project delivery once funding is awarded.

She studied music at King’s College London and Library and Information Studies at University College London. She also holds a PhD in book history from the University of St Andrews.

Her research interests include early modern European print culture, digital music publishing and big data.

Biography

Aurora is a PhD student at the University of Cambridge. Prior to earning her MPhil degree from Cambridge with Distinction and Best Dissertation Award, she majored in Spanish and minored in Psychology with a First and Best Dissertation Award. Her research lies at the intersection of applied linguistics, psychology, and sociology. In addition to research training in areas such as experimental design, she is particularly interested in digital scholarship and open research.

Biography

As Marshall Librarian I have taken an active role in supporting the Faculty of Economics with research. I have experience of supporting Open Access and Copyright. I have also completed Masters level training in RDM in my previous role at University of Sheffield. Craig Peacock, IT Manager in Economics, and I are working together as Research Data Champions in the Faculty. We are exploring training opportunities for undergraduates and all new postgraduate students in RDM and we have also given advice on completing ESRC Data Management Plans to academic staff making grant applications.

Biography

My day-to-day job mostly involves helping postdocs and UTOs manage research funding applications and awards, through which I found myself receiving lots of questions about GDPR, research data management, and data management plans. I joined the Data Champions in order to help provide answers, and to be able to give applicants and award-holders in my department access to the network's excellent information and resources.

Biography

Florian Markowetz is a Senior Group Leader at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. He is a Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award holder and received a CRUK Future Leader in Cancer Research prize. He holds degrees in Mathematics (Dipl. math.) and Philosophy (M.A.) from the University of Heidelberg and a Dr. rer. nat. (PhD equivalent) in Computational Biology from Free University Berlin, for which he was awarded an Otto-Hahn Medal by the Max Planck Society. His group at the CRUK Cambridge Institute combines computational work on cancer evolution and image analysis of the tumour tissue with experimental work on understanding key cancer mechanisms like the estrogen receptor.

Biography

In my role as Academic Services Librarian, I manage services delivered in the Haddon Library with a specific focus on supporting teaching and research for the Departments of Archaeology and Social Anthropology. Biography

I am an Affiliated Lecturer in Architecture and the Moving Image and a researcher working with large audio-visual datasets. I specialise in developing digital methodologies and database approaches for film and media research. I am currently the main researcher of the ‘CineMuseSpace: A Cinematic Musée Imaginaire of Spatial Cultural Differences’ project (cinemusespace.com).
